Out of the 1500+ VA medical centers and CBOCs, there are fewer than 75 creative arts therapists. Our nations veterans have very little access to arts therapies. An online community of arts therapists should be established to provide access for veterans who cannot get to hospitals with arts access.
The idea is to have everyone in a unit returning from a combat zone deployment receive in person PTSD screening around 3 months after return. Basically begin PTSD treatment for ALL returning combat vets. This will remove the stigma associated with seeking treatment. Everyone receives it.
